A Retreat From The Concrete Jungle The Englewood Nature Playspace and Gardens is a beloved neighborhood asset, created over the last 15 years by and for neighbors, and in particular early childhood learners. It is a respite from the concrete and asphalt that dominates our neighborhood, and the only public greenspace in walking distance. Great Places 2020 has joined forces with Patronicity to create a crowdfunding project in River West. The River West Multi-Generational Art Park, located at 518 N. Pershing Avenue is envisioned to be a place where youth and the young at heart gather to observe and appreciate public art and engage in interactive activities that stimulate their minds. The space will feature a vibrant wall art on the adjacent building, native plantings, attractive lighting fixtures and furnishings that inspire conversations and social interaction. Farm 365 project adds 11 jobs

Farm 365 project adds 11 jobs Farm 365, located in the Englewood Village neighborhood, seeks to be a small part of the solution of the food desert problem on the Near East side. It is focused on year round production and year round employment. Growing fresh, flavorful produce, grown by and for the local community, as well as re-purposing buildings, adding value to urban neighborhoods and directly creating 11 jobs. LISC Indianapolis provided a $20,000 facade improvement grant for Farm 365 and a $99,750 project initiation loan to support this project.

Donor Highlight: INHP Catalyst Grants In 2015, through the generous support of Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP), a $18,000 Catalyst Grant was awarded to the Martin Luther King Center in Mid-North to support the Family & Neighborhood Advocate project, a service delivery model for families and children. This project provides intensive head-of-household services including workforce development, connections to education resources, income supports and financial management and will target families of School #43. Indy Convergence makes Near West home

Indy Convergence, a non-profit Indianapolis arts organization dedicated to the growth of artists, has made its home at 2611 W. Michigan in the Near West neighborhood. Indy Convergence brings together a groups of professional artists from around the world to collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects, teach workshops and explore how to best interact with communities.
