Shelbi leads LISC Indianapolis’ work to address the social determinants of health that impact the life expectancy of neighborhood residents. This includes a focus on removing barriers to economic opportunity in targeted neighborhoods, connecting neighborhood talent to good jobs, and enhancing social capital and cohesion in neighborhoods.

Shelbi acts as a neighborhood liaison to the Near West neighborhood, actively supporting the River West Great Place plan implementation. She leads LISC’s work with the Diabetes Impact Project, designed to create a culture of health in three Indianapolis neighborhoods, connecting neighborhood residents to each other, purpose and resources. She supports our ongoing partnership with Eskenazi Health and our talent development work.
