LISC Facade and Property Improvement Program

LISC is excited to announce our invitation to submit applications for our city-wide round of façade grants. Applications will be due by 5pm on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019. Like in previous years, façade grants can reimburse up to 50% of the cost of exterior, front facing improvements to a commercial or industrial building. Awards range from $1,000 to $25,000.  Applicants are highly encouraged to seek support from the community development corporation that serves their area during the application process which will ultimately serve as an intermediary for the grant. Please review the full set of criteria and guidelines here. http://www.liscindianapolis.org/media/2019-Application.pdf

If you are aware of a project that could benefit from pro-bono architectural and design assistance prior to applying in order to make the application stronger, you can separately apply for design assistance. This process can help develop a scope for the project, evaluate the use of materials, help identify aesthetic vs. structural needs. This would be beneficial if significant improvements are needed to the building, not just maintenance or simple addition of awnings or new paint for instance. This process can also be a good way for a property owner to start thinking about applying for a façade grant in the future if they aren’t yet ready to commit to the improvements now. https://form.jotform.com/80215837210145

Please submit your applications through the online form found here.https://form.jotform.com/90435456765162 Please note that progress cannot be saved once you start it, so we suggest drafting the application in a Word Document and copying and pasting into the form. Please also make sure you have all attachments ready before starting.

Thank you to our partners and funders that make the small business façade and property improvement grant possible including INHP, Lilly Endowment, State Farm, the City of Indianapolis and the network of community development corporations who serve a crucial role with the façade grant process.
