Crooked Creek
Crooked Creek is a diverse community comprised of people of every generation, ethnicity, and culture. A place where the past is revered and the future embraced with equal enthusiasm. It contains a number of smaller communities, including Crow’s Nest, Rocky Ripple, Highwoods, Spring Hill, Meridian Hills, and Wynnedale.
The Crooked Creek community is home to a multitude of faiths, with significant Jewish, Catholic, and Mennonite branches represented, as well as a wealth of nationally-recognized cultural, educational, and healthcare institutions that bring enlightenment and comfort to all.
Crooked Creek Community Development Corporation, a CDC providing housing and economic development initiatives to the area, partnered with LISC as the convening organization for the quality-of-life planning and implementation process in Crooked Creek.
LISC has contributed to significant investments in the Crooked Creek neighborhood, including:
- The creation of a new, updated quality-of-life plan for the area
- The development of a farmer’s market that averages 150-plus visitors per week
- New commercial development on the formerly vacant Masonic Hall site
- Senior housing developed by the Glick Center
