In Indianapolis, community gardens, bike lanes, and LEED-certified buildings are making neighborhoods great places to live, work, and play. At LISC, Sustainable Communities is a platform through which a wide range of partnerships can be focused on implementing neighborhood-driven revitalization in key areas, including healthy environments. Green roofs, buildings, and infrastructure are all part of the quality-of-life plans developed in LISC Sustainable Communities.
LISC is proud to be part of the change toward a more sustainable future and an improved quality of life in the communities we serve. By promoting density, walkability, and healthy environments while providing technical assistance and financial support for core Indianapolis communities, LISC is assuring that community development in Indianapolis neighborhoods is sustainable.
Through our FOCUS program, we’ve also mapped brownfields in several neighborhoods and helped with incentives and remediation plans that turn once-contaminated areas into thriving business sites.
We are also pleased to support the NFL Grassroots Program, a partnership with the National Football League that provides nonprofit, community-based organizations with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields.
